Lake
Rusträsket

The
Lake Rusträsket
Rusträsket is one of the biggest lakes in the municipality
of Lycksele. The depth is dropping down to 15 m in the deepest
parts. But close to the bank, where most of the pike fishing
is done, the depth is normally between 2-4 m.
The most common species are pike, perch and roach, and other
species in the lake are trout, grayling and white fish. The
trout and grayling are spawning in the beautiful, little river
of Rusbäcken. There has been no study of the water depth
in Rusträsket, so a detailed map of the different depth
zone cannot be displayed.
The bottom most often follows the landscape next to the water.
If the land is flat close to the bank, you can expect that
the water is also quite shallow in that area. LFF Pike competition
is placed on the north side (north of the marked at the village
Hedvik) of the lake.
Practise in Rusträsket is not allowed 30 days prior to
the competition. Practise can be done in the river Ume älv
next to the camping, where competitors have free fishing before/after
the LFF. Boat can be hired at the reception.
