Byskeälven
Byske river

GP-special 1 Effective on salmon and seatrout, mainly a spring and autumn fly. Especially useful with newly arrived sea trout in the spring. Fish the fly high in the water and with some extra speed, this will attract the more active trout. Very useful in cloudy weather and after heavy raining when the river water goes murky. Tied on golden hooks in sizes 3 – 9 or on tubes.

The usual (light and dark variant) The most classic River Byske fly of them all, extremely effective for salmon during the whole season. It’s tied on a half inch copper tube with wing lengths of 3 – 12 centimetres (1 ½ - 5 inches), the length depending on time of season, water temperature and water level. The light variant is used mainly for day fishing and the dark variant for nighttime or cloudy weather.

Tempelhund, Temple dog (variant) An effective fly that is perfectly adapted to River Byske’s somewhat humus coloured water. It’s tied on hooks, copper tubes and plastic tubes with wing lengths of 3 – 12 centimetres (1 ½ - 5 inches). Small variants are excellent for trout arriving early in the summer. Fish the fly in a slow manner with continuous upstream mending. Vary the speed of the fly when fishing for salmon but generally fish it faster than if fishing for sea trout.

Black doctor Spey An absolute favourite, both for salmon and sea trout. Fish the fly with extra speed for salmon and slowly drifting for sea trout. Use this fly when the water has started to get clearer after the spring flood. Size 2 – 4 in May/June and size 4 – 10 in July/August. If lacking heron feathers there’s an adequate substitute in the backside hackle of the ring neck pheasant.

Rickleån
Rickle creek

Gold Sheep Well adapted to Rickleå creek’s somewhat humus coloured water. Useful with both salmon and sea trout. In high and murky water it is to be fished deep and slow. Later in the spring it works fine under sunny conditions. Also, with autumn’s choice of colourful patterns this fly fits nicely.

Blue Rapala tube A very all-round fly for freshly arrived sea trout. Tied on a plastic tube balanced with tungsten in the foremost part of the fly. Is to be fished high in the water, attracting the more active fish.

Hairy Harry A fly for early spring sea trout, when the water is running high and murky. In Rickleå creek this is a very good fly for freshly arrived salmon. Hairy Harry is one of the favourites for autumn fishing when salmon and sea trout is attracted to bright colours.

Vindelälven
Vindel river

The usual (light variant) Also tied as a dark variant for night fishing. Tied on half inch copper tubes with wing lengths between 2 – 7 centimetres (1 – 3 inches). Fish the fly with extra speed when fishing for salmon. Useable from midsummer once the mountain flood has decreased. When sea trout arrives in August you will find that the darker variant works better, foremost when the weather is cloudy. The sea trout prefers a bit darker and thicker variant of The usual.

Em silver (hair wing variant) A pattern that harmonize nicely with the clear water of River Vindelälv. Fish the fly with some extra speed when fishing for salmon. Useable in sunny weather. Em silver is, in small sizes tied on a silver hook #7 – 9, a very effective fly for shy autumn sea trout.

Black & light blue A very good, all season, fly that works well with both salmon and sea trout. A lot of its effectiveness is due to the fine contrast and siluette. This fly also fishes well in murky water. It is tied with wing lengths of 3 – 10 centimetres (1 ½ – 4 inches).

Lögdeälven
Lögde river

Nobody tempelhund, Nobody temple dog Usually tied on a half inch copper tube, and a very useable pattern all year round. Mostly used for night fishing and cloudy weather. Wing lengths of 3 – 10 centimetres (1 ½ – 4 inches). On smaller sized hooks and tubes it is an effective sea trout fly for summer and autumn.

Silver Garry Incredibly effective fly in the early season when the water is somewhat coloured. Also, a fly that works well during daytime, foremost in sunny weather. Tied as a tube as well as on a hook, with hook sizes 2 – 6 and tube wing lengths 3 – 10 centimetres (1 – 4 inches).

Thunder Spey My absolute favourite for salmon as well as sea trout. Fishes well in all weathers. Vary hook sizes from 2 – 10 Ed-hook or double hook. Use this fly when the water has started to clear up after the spring flood and all the time until end of season.

Lawson One of the most common patterns for salmon and sea trout in River Lögdeälven. Very useable after the spring flood and during the rest of the season. Effective in sizes 2 – 10, double hook, or as tubes with wing length 3 – 7 centimetres (1 – 3 inches).
