"Swedish Lapland applies for multi championships
in flyfishing"
Swedish Lapland apply for the possibility to arrange the following international
flyfishing
competitions:
- European Championship 2004
- Youth World Championship 2004
- World Championship 2005
After the success of WFFC 2001, Swedish Lapland hope to be the host of
some of the competitions above. It is not yet decided by FIPS-Mouche,
but
if we are lucky enough to get even one of those competitions, it will
be
yet another highlight for promoting ecological flyfishing and the
flyfishing in the region. In April Greger Jonsson (Project Lapland
Fishing) and Karl-Erik Arvidsson (The Swedish Sportfishing Federation),
will visit Switzerland for the annual CIPS-conference, and at the same
time promote the north of Sweden for future competitions.
Two new articles under "Journalists
view"
Now we have two new articles out from journalists who visited the region
during 2002. One is from the French magazine "La Peche de Carnassiers,
Dec
2002". If you dont feel an urgent need to try the pike fishing
in Lapland
after reading this, you never will. The other article is from the Belgian
magazine "Beet-February 2003" and is written by Rob Vliege,
who visited
the valley Kultsjödalen, flyfishing for Arctic char and trout. He
also
tried the Baltic salmon in the river Byske älv.
