Big in Japan
In 2006 the county was visited by some really professional sportfishermen from Japan. I can almost say that those three enthusiasts were the first sportfishing tourists from Japan, that visited the county of Västerbotten. One of them, Hirosuke Nori, was one of the most famous lure-fishermen and fishing journalists in Japan and also the president of the lure fishing tackle company Saurus). If You want to see some top class lures and rods I recommend You to visit there site: http://saurus50.jp

Takayoshi Hashikata with his first baltic salmon

One of the resanons of the trip was to try out there own rods and lures against the baltic salmon. Unfortunatelly they arrived in one of the hottest weeks in late august and they had to fight hard, but ended up with one caught salmon (the first day), hooking a big one that showed his head until he shooked loose, and some really nice brown trout. Hopefully they will return another , and more normal year, to discover the real power of this river.
